#2 Anderson and Antonio played well for the Hammers:
Felipe Anderson posed a lot of problems to the United defence throughout the first half. One of his shots was saved by David De Gea, and on another occasion, he saw his header miss the goal by a whisker. The Brazilian was ultimately rewarded in the 49th minute, when he scored his 10th goal in 37 matches for West Ham.
If Anderson was a menace for United’s defence in the first half, Antonio’s introduction in the second made West Ham go close to taking the lead. Antonio came very close to scoring twice in the space of a few minutes, as his rasping shot beat De Gea and hit the crossbar in the 75th minute.
A minute later, De Gea made a wonderful save from Antonio’s header to deny him again. West Ham looked good enough to take the lead at that point in time, but it was United who actually managed to score the winning goal.
