The Ajax starlet was no less than phenomenal last season, scoring 9 goals and providing 10 assists from 34 league appearances. He was crucial for Ajax to secure the club's first Eredivisie title since the 2013/14 season.

He also impressed in the Champions League, scoring twice in the knockout stage against top opposition such as Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur. If United want a midfielder who can score crucial goals, de Beek will be the answer. An agile player with an excellent eye for a pass, de Beek could cause a lot of harm if left unmarked inside the box.

It is understandable that United will need to pay around €50 million for the 22-year-old. Nevertheless, the price will be relatively modest for a young player who has proved himself in Europe's biggest stage.
