Manchester United had already announced that their pre-season tour would be in United States but today they released the dates and the opposition to be played on the tour. The games are a part of the International Champions cup, the tournament that United won last summer.
The tour begins with a game with Club America in Seattle on the 17th of July. United then play the San Jose Earthquakes, a club where the legendary George Best played. The venue for this game is yet to be announced.
Then come the main attractions of the tour. United play Barcelona on the 25th July in Santa Clara followed by a game with Paris Saint-Germain in Chicago on the 29th July.
Manchester United managing director, Richard Arnold, said: “Manchester United has a great history of visiting these US cities, creating memorable experiences for players and fans that date back as far as the 1950s.”
“Tour 2015, presented by Aon, will allow the team to train at some of the best facilities in the world and play in front of thousands of passionate US supporters at first-class stadiums.”
Chelsea, Fiorentina, Porto, LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls make up the rest of the roster for the tournament. Last year the 20-time English Champions played Real Madrid and Liverpool in the United States.
