Centre-midfield : Michael Carrick
After a long rest, Carrick will start against Arsenal and that is why makes this lineup ahead of the likes of Francis Coquelin and Granit Xhaka. Carrick is an important player for the Red Devils as United always play well when the former England international plays in midfield, shielding the back four. His presence has improved Paul Pogba's performance which can be said as his biggest contribution this season.
Centre midfield: Paul Pogba
After a disastrous start to his return to England, Pogba is slowly regaining his form which made him the most expensive football player this summer on Planet Earth. Pogba has attempted the most dribbles in the United squad and also has the most number of recoveries until now. Besides Carrick, the Frenchman is looking a safe bet and makes an appearance in this lineup with a stunner in the last game against Swansea and also as a result of a long-term injury to Santi Cazorla.
Attacking midfielder : Mesut Ozil
Wayne Rooney played his best game this season against Swansea but could not claim a place in this lineup against the German visionary. Along with his defence-splitting passes, Ozil has added goals to his game this campaign. His finish against Ludogorets in the Champions League was plain stunning. He is one of the best in the world in his position and is another must-have in any combined eleven.
