Louis van Gaal has ended Manchester United's interest in Toni Kroos.
Kroos has been on United's radar since last year and a move to the Old Trafford club looked pretty much on the cards until yesterday, but it has been made clear that van Gaal is not interested in signing the 24-year-old from Bayern Munich.
Toni Kroos was considered to be David Moyes' top priority and it was believed by many that he could help Manchester United solve their midfield problems. But with David Moyes long gone, it is upon Louis van Gaal to decide whether he wants the Bundesliga star or not.
But it now looks like van Gaal has called off the deal which appears to be his first major decision since his announcement as the coach of Manchester United. This could come as a big shock to United fans who until recently were optimistic that Kroos could've been the Reds’ first major signing.
Kroos’s current deal expires next summer but talks haven't been up to the mark over a new contract offer. “There will certainly be further talks. But at some point the player has to say what he wants.”
“We will not exceed certain financial boundaries” said Karl Hopfner, Bayern Munich’s president in an interview with Kicker magazine.
