Manchester United and Chelsea primary target, Luke Shaw is not going to leave his youth team Southampton in the winter transfer window. Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is not going to part ways with the 18 year old left-back.
The Argentine was quoted telling Four Four Two: “Southampton has no interest in selling him [Shaw], not at this moment or in the summer. We have no intention.”
Shaw, who is an avid Chelsea fan, was expected to move to Stamford Bridge. But Pochettino’s statement made it clear that he is going to stay at the club for a bit longer than expected.
David Moyes, whose side is currently in 7th place in the Premier League wants to bring the promising youngster to Old Trafford as a replacement for Patrice Evra. On the other hand, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has circled Shaw as an ideal replacement for Ashley Cole.
It was even believed that Pellegrini wanted to bring Shaw to the Etihad by shelling out a staggering £30m for the 18-year-old. But, the Manchester City manager has rubbished these talks.
When asked, he said “No, no, no. I don’t confirm about any names because we are not concerned about that in this moment. During the whole of January we will see what happens, all the clubs can do transfers, but I am not interested in one name especially. I don’t say nothing about it.”
After Pochettino’s strong statement, it is clear that a decent amount of cash has to be splashed to grab this youngster.
