Manchester United fans have decided to wear Eric Cantona masks to the game against Crystal Palace tomorrow. Its a gesture to revive old memories of Eric Cantona,as he delivered his infamous “Kungfu Kick” to a Crystal Palace fan in a game against the club in the 1994-95 season.

Apparently, the Crystal Palace fans are furious after hearing about this planned gesture of the United fans.

Since the incident in 1994, tensions between the two sets of fans have been very high. Eric Cantona was eventually banned from football for almost nine months along with a £20,000 fine.

Matthew Simmons, the victim of the “Kungfu Kick”, died three months later due to violence which occurred at a pub near Villa Park.

Crystal Palace fans may consider the mask gesture to be mocking Nixon’s death.
