This chant is sung in honour of one of Manchester United’s favourite sons – Ryan Giggs. The Welsh wizard has been with United since 1991 and continues to defy logic with each game he plays. Giggs is still going strong at 40 and even though his hair is turning grey his legs are as lively as a teenagers. This chant reminds United fans of a young Giggs’ brilliant days as a speedy winger when he was nearly unstoppable. Even though he can’t play as a winger anymore his passing from the centre of the park is as sharp as ever.

The “red and white army” chant was even sung before Sir Alex’s 1500th and final home game as Manchester United’s manager. Sir Alex’s successor David Moyes had a chant similar to this one but the supporters didn’t get too many chances to shout it out.
