Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has said that he hasn’t decided whether he will remain a Manchester United player or move to Real Madrid in the summer. The Spaniard was asked about his future at an awards presentation in Spain but didn’t reveal much.
De Gea was recently named Hijo Adoptivo de Castilla-La Mancha (Adopted Son of Castilla-La Mancha) back in Spain, and was asked about his club future, to which he said, "We'll see what happens with my future. Now I am on holiday and I am very happy for this recognition."
Real Madrid have been pushing to secure the custodian’s signature while the Red Devils have offered him a lucrative new contract. He is said to be considering both options, with the support of his United teammates and fans fully behind him.
Though he has said many times that he loves Manchester United, the possibility of moving back to Spain and playing for the Galacticos are quite major points for him to consider.
The former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper will join the Spain squad, along with current Real Madrid goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas, the man he will probably replace if he joins the Spanish giants. Casillas for his part has said that it would be great to have De Gea at Real, as he also went on to say that he recommended his compatriot to the 10-time European champions.
Manchester United will be on the lookout for replacements if De Gea does decide to leave, with Petr Cech thought to be a rumoured target.
