Premier League leaders Manchester United have asked FC Porto if they would consider a swap of wingers, James Rodriguez for Nani, according to reports in the British media.
The Columbian is one of the finest players in Europe, and the Red Devils are hoping to add the star to their squad by signing him during the summer transfer window. It has been understood that Sir Alex Ferguson has had talks with senior officials of the Portuguese club about a possible swap that would see the 20 year old coming to Old Trafford, and current Red Devils winger Nani making his way back to Portugal.
Nani’s future at Old Trafford hangs by a thread after becoming furious for not being offered a contract extension. With a squad reshuffle in the offing, the Portuguese could be moved on. He would join other players like Patrice Evra, Bebe and Kiko Macheda, who will all be moved on, reportedly. If the deal with Porto is given the green light, then Rodriguez would team-up with Wilfred Zaha as part of the fresh line-up.
Porto have so far done their best to keep James Rodriguez from moving to another club, having earlier turned down a £20 million offer from AC Milan.
