What's the news?
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that he has created a positive environment in training, which has in turn brought the best out of his team.
In case you didn't know...
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has completely transformed Manchester United since taking charge as an interim manager in December last year as the Red Devils are currently unbeaten in the league under the Norwegian.
The Manchester-based club is currently fifth in the Premier League table, one point adrift of Champions League qualification places.
Superstars like Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford struggled to perform under the former manager Jose Mourinho, but the appointment of Solskjaer has worked wonders for them and they are currently at the top of their games.
Rashford has scored six goals in 10 games under the 46-year-old, whereas Pogba has bagged nine goals and six assists since Solskjaer took charge at the club.
The heart of the matter
Speaking to Premier League Productions (via Manchester Evening News), Solskjaer feels he has created a positive environment in the team since taking over the reigns, and that is what has changed fortunes for Paul Pogba and Rashford. He said:
"To create an environment that they (Pogba and Rashford) want to come into training, they want to enjoy training, they feel that they're allowed to perform, to express their talents. Because when they're at Man United, they are some of the best players in the world. That's why Man United sign you.
"And just try to speak to them, just make sure you enjoy playing because the day you're away from Man United, I think you'll look back at it and say, 'That was a fantastic time'."
The Norwegian also praised his backroom staff, remarking:
"Everyone's been important, because Kieran [McKenna], Michael [Carrick], [Mark] Dempsey, they're doing most of the training sessions, they've been fantastic.
Mick is Mick. He knows the place, he speaks to everyone, he gives us advice and is a great balancing board for me when we discuss things. So we've had a good time together. I think both of us are enjoying it."
What's next?
Manchester United are scheduled to battle it out against Southampton in the league next, before they take on Paris St. Germain at the Le Parc des Princes for the second leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie on March 7.
