#4 Red Devils given massive hope in Harry Maguire pursuit
Manchester United's pursuit of Harry Maguire had hit a road block ever since Leicester City had rejected a £70m bid for the Englishman. The Foxes are holding out for a world record fee for a defender, which would be in excess of the £75m million that Virgil van Dijk cost Liverpool, with manager Brendan Rodgers eager to hold on to his prized asset.
So far, United had been reluctant to invest such a huge mount of money, but there have been other concerns - the transfer window is nearing its deadline day, which is less than two weeks away.
Brendan Rodgers had previously stated that the club might establish a cut-off point for the deal to be closed, in order to have time in hand to buy an able replacement for Maguire. However, the Leicester City manager has now given United massive hope as the Red Devils race against time to get the deal done. When asked about the cut off point, he's what he said
I haven’t really thought about that
We have two weeks left to go in the window for all of the players. I think it’s just a case of everyone staying in focused.
Because the Foxes have refused to confirm a cut off point, it is assumed that they are still open for negotiations, which will delight the Red Devils.
