Rumour: Manchester United on a transfer rampage; to offer £30 million plus Nani for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal

The dethroned English champions Manchester United have begun their rebuilding process in earnest by securing the signatures of Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw. And now they have set their sights on Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, with a bid over £30 million plus winger out-of-favour winger Nani.

The Chilean midfielder, has long been on United’s radar and this time they are set to test Juventus’s resolve by offering Portugese Nani, who had a disappointing World Cup in Brazil with his team exiting the tournament in the group stage itself

The 27-year old had signed a contract extension keeping him at Turin till 2017 last December but that does not seem to come as a hindrance to United’s intensified chase of their man. Juventus are in bad financial condition lately with £6.5 million dip in profits in the first-half of 2013-2014 financial year and their debt has swelled to £188 million from £160 million.

The Bianconeri are believed to be willing to sell one of their prized assets and United are said to be leading a long list of suitors for the midfielder’s signature. New manager Louis Van Gaal hopes to pair the box-to-box midfielder with new signing Ander Herrera in the center of the field to reignite a beleaguered United midfield.

Vidal is currently preparing for Chile’s last-16 knockout game against hosts Brazil in the World Cup 2014. He is reported to be carrying an inflammation in his right knee after his operation on his meniscus but is expected to start the game.
