Manchester United's Juan Mata said that he is pleased with the English football team's improvement over the past few weeks and stressed that the 'Red Devils' are on the right track to achieve good results in the coming weeks.
"We are improving our game lately and I'm sure this is the way to get a series of good results in the next few weeks. The team is playing with more determination and confidence and we want to keep it this way," Mata wrote on his weekly blog on Monday, reports Efe.
On Sunday, Manchester United continued hopes to end the season in a Champions League qualifying position after a 1-1 tie against Chelsea.
Mata, 27, highlighted the performances of both teams and said it was delightful for supporters, confirming that both teams played for the three points, but neither could snatch a decisive win.
The Spaniard, who wore the 'Blues' jersey for two-and-a-half seasons before his Red Devils move, thanked the fans for their support and the round of applause at Stamford Bridge, which he said he will never forget.
"I'm deeply grateful for the reception from the Chelsea fans and their applause when I was substituted. It's something you keep in your memory forever," Mata said.
The Spanish international also highlighted the injury of Chelsea's defender Kurt Zouma, saying, "I was very close to him when it happened. He left the pitch on a stretcher screaming in pain and I hope it's not a very serious injury and he can be back on the pitch as soon as possible."
