Manchester United boss David Moyes recently admitted that there is little or no hope of new players arriving in the January transfer window. The Old Trafford outfit recently slumped to their 4th home defeat against Swansea in the FA Cup and look like a side who desperately need reinforcements in order to become the force that they once were during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign as manager. Moyes had stated that he had his eyes on a few players but there was little hope on them arriving this January.

I personally feel that David Moyes is doing the right thing by not pursuing them in January. The Scot is surely looking to make some big signings but it is less likely that they would arrive now as the Champions League is still underway and no club would allow their key players to leave at such a time.

The upcoming World Cup does not help either as every player wants to get enough game time with their respective club in order to cement their place in the World Cup squad. Adjusting to the Premier League can take time and few players will be willing to take the risk on moving to England before football’s biggest competition is over.

Moyes was spotted attending an Atletico Madrid match which led to speculation that the Scot was planning to launch a bid for their star player Koke. The 21-year-old is a talented player and would be a perfect fit in United’s squad but any bid for him now would prove fruitless as he is a key player for the Madrid club this season.

Moyes is probably planning to access his performance this season and launch a bid before the World Cup which is the right move because if Koke performs well in Brazil, and he surely will, his price would sky rocket.

The Manchester United manager has some shrewd skills in the transfer market and will most likely try to get the player sooner rather than later. Koke has some terrific passing skills and could be Manchester Unitd’s answer to Mesut Ozil. Moyes will pull off a major coup if he manages to get the Spaniard’s signature.

Manchester United supporters need to keep an open mind regarding player transfers. If in case Moyes’s bid for Koke is unsuccessful then they shouldn’t fret there are loads of other talented players available around the world. The fans should also give the new signings some time to adapt.

Take David De Gea as an example. The Spanish goalkeeper was heavily criticized during his first season as he struggled to adapt to the fast paced Premier League. Critics had already written him off and were speculation who would replace him. However the 2012-2013 was incredible for De Gea, who was a key player in United’s title success and successfully silenced his doubters along the way.

Moyes has surely taken note of the dead wood in his squad and people can expect some under-performing players to depart the club over the course of the two transfer windows. The 50-year-old has said that the squad needs some more world-class players to win the Champions League so people can expect some top class talent arriving in the next few months.

However, one should know that everything cannot change in just one transfer window and will have to be patient for results. Even Arsenal need to buy more players, mainly a striker as Ozil’s magic is just not enough for the Gunners. Millions of fans are waiting with bated breath to see who will arrive at the Theater of Dreams. Its now over to you David Moyes.
