United will make a formal approach for Longstaff this week
United's currently transfer policy has been a calculated mixture of the present and the future, which is why the Red Devils are targeting young players who can be at Old Trafford for at least a decade.

This is another reason why Sean Longstaff has been shortlisted and it looks like United's interest in the Newcastle youngster is about to take a serious turn.
The Telegraph reports that United will formally approach Newcastle United this week for the services of the young midfielder. This will be the first bid for Longstaff and the Red Devils are currently the only club among the fabled top 6 who are still interested in the player.
It is understood that Pogba's future bears no impact on United's interest in the youngster. The £25m rated player has been firmly in Solskjaer's plans, but an absence of any competition for his signature means that United can beef up negotiations to acquire him at a price lower than Newcastle would like.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.

Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
