Manchester United's dismal performance in front of goal this season has prompted Solskjaer to look for options in the transfer market. Romelu Lukaku has hardly impressed the Norwegian, who is willing to let the Belgian leave this summer, as he searches for a proven goalscorer. And if reports are to be believed, that search has taken the Norwegian to the Bundesliga.

According to kicker, United have been in touch with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski about a possible deal. It is also reported that Polish striker will has a deal until the summer of 2021, with an option to extend another year. The player is supposed to discuss his future with the club in the next few days, but Manchester United as well as PSG have asked about his availability

The Mirror had earlier revealed that a bid of around £70m will be enough to price the striker away from the Allianz Arena, even though they did state that Chelsea were the front runners. But with the transfer ban upheld, the Blues are effectively out of the scene. This is where United could sweep in and get their man.
