According to Sky Sports, Vitesse Arnhem’s Alexander Buttner has claimed that a ‘dream’ move to Manchester United is set to happen soon. United, who have been strongly linked with Everton’s Leighton Baines all summer, is set to sign the left back for a estimated fee of €5 million, subject to a successful completion of a medical.
Speaking to a regional TV station he said: “This is really a dream come true. It was all arranged very quickly and of course I am very delighted. Happily everything is coming to an end.”
Southampton, Fulham and QPR have all been linked with the 23 year old, but he seems all set to be the understudy for Patrice Evra at United. He has scored 10 goals in 107 appearances for Vitesse in the Eredivisie over 5 seasons and was included in the 36 player provisional list of the Dutch side for Euro 2012.
Vitesse and Buttner have been at loggerheads over the player trying to move away from the club, but now it seems his wish has been granted. He is all set to be Ferguson’s fourth signing this summer.
