#3 United board ready to ignore Solskjaer's decision on Tottenham defender
Another day, another story about Manchester United's quest for a new center-back. The Metro reports the United board are willing to ignore Solskjaer's decision on Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld. After failing to make significant developments in his pursuit of a centre-back so far, Solskjaer had apparently had a change of heart and was willing to settle for the men at his disposal. He had even decided against opting for Alderweireld, who had been a long term United target.
But it now seems that the United board are ready to ignore Solskjaer's decision and bid for the Belgian defender, who will be available for just £25m. This is because the club hierarchy understands that a player of his caliber is rarely available in such an affordable deal. Alderweireld represents a great value for money and at 30 years old, still has a few good seasons in him, which is why United are ready to bring him to Old Trafford.
Now it remains to be seen if Solskjaer, who is reportedly a fan of the player, is willing to invest in the Belgian.
