The 24-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a fantastic season, scoring 28 goals from 48 games, and also picking up 14 assists. He was reportedly on the radar of Guardiola but now reports have emerged that United are ready to overtake City for his signature.

Sporting are open to selling their star player, who has a €100m release clause in his contract. However, neither of the two Premier League sides are willing to match that evaluation. City have reportedly submitted a bid of €55m and are even ready to add a player in the deal.

However, reports now suggest that United are willing to offer as much as €70-80m, which could see the Portuguese star arrive in Old Trafford. Solskjaer is desperate to add a midfielder this summer and United are looking to complete the deal within next week.
