Matthijs de Ligt agrees to join Juventus because of release clause
Matthijs de Ligt's transfer saga seems to be near its conclusion, as The Old Lady are said to have struck a deal for the defender. Many top European clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United and PSG have all been previously said to be close to signing the 19-year-old.
However, after several twists and turns, it seems as though the Serie A champion are now the favourites to land the Ajax sensation. Juventus are prepared to offer a massive salary to the 19-year-old, and according to a report, Juventus will have to pay a salary of £7m per season net plus various bonuses for the Ajax starlet.
De Ligt has agreed on personal terms with the Old Lady, and Juventus will have to pay Ajax £62 million. The report further states that a release clause of £134 million is also included in the deal. The clause is said to be a decisive factor of the transfer, as PSG failed to complete the deal several weeks ago due to this particular reason.
