After enduring a difficult 2-year spell at Manchester United, Japanese international Shinji Kagawa completes a move back to Borussia Dortmund on a four-year deal. Kagawa, who failed to make a significant impact at Old Trafford following his €22 million move to the club in 2012, returns to the Bundesliga club where he had orignally made a name for himself as one of Europe’s finest playmaker.
Earlier today, Borussia Dortmund unveiled Shinji Kagawa after Manchester United had allowed the player to complete the transfer move, the day before. On completing the transfer move of 25-year-old attacking midfielder that will surely boost the Dortmund squad, BVB sporting director Michael Zorc was understandably delighted.
After confirming the transfer, he told the club’s official website, "The possibility of signing Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United only arose for the first time in the last few days.
“Naturally we decided to add his enormous quality to our squad once again,” Zorc added.
Kagawa will be definitely looking forward to the opportunity to revivie his career at the BVB where he won 2 Bundesliga titles and a domestic cup in his first spell.
He will be eligible to play for Jurgen Klopp‘s side at Signal Iduna Park after the international break on September 13th against SC Freiburg.
