Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has admitted that he needs to toughen up if he is going to become a regular at Old Trafford.
The former Borussia Dortmund player has struggled to make a significant impact at United since his £12 million move in 2012.
He has made just 24 Premier League starts since signing but earned praise for his second half display in United’s recent 2-0 win over Swansea City when he was moved into his more favourable position in the centre.
He told Man Utd’s official website: ”I think I can still improve my strength. I’m not the tallest or biggest player, so I have to move my body more.
“Smaller players in the Premier League are very good at using their bodies (to get past the opposition) and that’s what I will continue to do.
“I realise the Premier League is a very tough league and I know I have to be stronger.”
Kagawa has played just two full games in the league this season and is yet to score.
Shinji Kagawa is yet to score or assist a goal in his 9 Premier League games this season.
