Robin van Persie has been sidelined for upto a month, Manager David Moyes said during the press conference ahead of the match against Aston Villa on Sunday. “Robin van Persie is out as well for a month,” Moyes told reporters.
“He picked up a thigh strain in taking a corner kick which led to the goal.”
Van Persie has already missed three of the last four games in which Manchester United managed to draw twice and lose twice. It will be a big blow to United to miss their talismanic striker for the next one month which would mean he could be out till the middle of January.
During the press conference, when asked about the Premier League table, David Moyes said,”We’ll do everything possible to get closer”.
“We’ve got a lot of games coming up and can pick up points. But we need to do it, not talk about it.”.
When asked about the Sunday trip to Aston Villa, he replied,”We want to play well. We’ve not done as well in the league as we should have. We want to put it right”.
Manchester United will be visiting Aston Villa on Sunday at 7.00 PM IST
