Louis Van Gaal has been lined up to replace David Moyes as the Manchester United manager for the next season.
After suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Everton, the United board officials have lost their patience with Moyes and it is being reported now that he will be discharged of his duties before the Red Devils face Norwich City this weekend.
Van Gaal, who has been spending his time recently in his villa in Portugal’s Algarve, has been seen as the numero uno option by the board members to take charge at the Old Trafford next season and it is believed that they are setting up a meeting with the Dutch to discuss this prospect.
“My ambition is to coach a top team in the Premier League. I have never experienced the atmosphere in England,” he told German newspaper Bild earlier this year.
“I want to win the league title in a fourth country. That’s my objective and I want to fulfil it.”
The Holland boss had been contacted by Tottenham supremos earlier this season, but he has refrained from making any commitments before any offer from United comes along. The situation of Moyes and United have been the talk of the hour as the former Everton boss has run out of time failing to deliver in all competitions.
The Glazers, US owners of the club have prepared to allocate £200m to strengthen and reform their squad on the next transfer window. But they are not sure of trusting Moyes with that amount and want a reputed personnel instead. With four matches remaining, Ryan Giggs will take over as the acting boss and will be assisted by his former-team mate Nicky Butt.
Meanwhile, Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has been also seen as a potential candidate for managing United. The German hasn’t been contacted yet, but he has revealed his interest should the Glazers approach him.
