#4 United to meet Crystal Palace to speed up Wan-Bissaka deal
The Guardian reports that Manchester United were scheduled to meet Crystal Palace on Monday evening to chalk out a deal and finalize the last details of the deal that has been lingering for longer than usual.
United have been hopeful of sealing a deal for the Englishman, even though their initial bids were rejected by Palace, because those were deemed less than the club's evaluation of their star player. Palace are holding out for £50m, while none of United's two offers have met that value upfront. They also want the Red Devils to remove a sell on clause that was inserted in Wilfred Zaha's contract.
United's recent bid was reportedly of around £35m, with another £15m in bonuses and performance-related incentives included. But Palace found a lot of those performance-related incentives unrealistic and want the amount in full. Ed Woodward is expected to meet Palace Chairman Steve Parish to speed up negotiations, while Wan-Bissaka is himself keen on the move. A deal could be finalized this week.
