Manchester United have reportedly offered Atletico defender Miranda a huge contract in order to secure his signature.
According to the Daily Star, reports in Spain suggest that the Red Devils are desperate to bring the central defender to Old Trafford and in order to fend off interest in Miranda from Barcelona Man United have offered a sizeable contract.
Miranda is concerned by the fact that neither club have given him reassurances that they will be prepared to meet his buy-out clause of £24.2 million.
Despite enjoying a fantastic season with Atletico Madrid, helping them win the La Liga title and reach the Champions League final, Miranda was not part of the Brazil squad for the World Cup.
In order to improve his international chances Miranda wants a move away from Atletico Madrid.
New boss Louis van Gaal will know that strengthening the defence is a priority because Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic have left the club. Additionally, neither Phil Jones nor Chris Smalling have really established themselves at centre-back.
With a performance score of 651 only Diego Godin (1,053) had a higher performance score than Miranda for Atletico Madrid this season.
