McTominay dominated the midfield with authority
The Scottish midfielder was selected alongside Paul Pogba as a double pivot and the youngster outshone the Frenchman on the field. Scott McTominay was everything United needed in the first half. Most importantly, his all-round performance in the middle of the park enabled United to stay in control of the game and dominate proceedings.

McTominay has already shown this season that he is better suited to Solskjaer’s tactics than Nemanja Matic. Against Tottenham too, the youngster was agile, fast and compact in the middle. He picked up the ball in the midfield and wasted no time to set his forward players free. He went shoulder to shoulder with the Tottenham midfielders and regularly came up on top. And he had the awareness to do the cleaning up when United lost the ball.
The young midfielder almost resembled a prime Matic at times, eating up ground at will and refusing to give up the reins of the game. His tenacity and work ethics could be a defining factor for United this season.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
