Angel Gomes scored a fantastic winner
The youngster was one of a handful of academy players that Solskjaer has taken to the pre-season. And his big moment arrived in the game against Tottenham, where he started on the bench and was brought on for the second half.

The Portuguese stationed himself on the left side of the attack and spent the afternoon running at the Tottenham right-back. His movement was good, and Gomes even got into good positions, combining well with Luke Shaw. He tried to build up a partnership with Rashford, but lacked a bit of maturity on the field, at times trying audacious attempts at goal, including a chip that landed on the roof of the net.
However, the quality of Angel Gomes is undeniable and it was in the 80th minute that the world was witness to that. Picking up the ball at his regular position, Gomes ran into the box, played a beautiful one-two with Juan Mata and then finished from the tightest of angles. It was a goal that won the game and also gave a glimpse of the young talents at United's disposal.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
