Griezmann all but says YES to Man United
Manchester United were given a major boost in their hopes of signing French striker Antoine Griezmann after the French forward came out expressing his love for the club and Paul Pogba.
Griezmann has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in last 12 months and the transfer could materialise in the coming transfer window with attacker keen to play for The Red Devils.
Griezmann recently released a book where was quoted saying: "I have nothing against England, apart from the weather. Manchester United is a possibility. Although I love Paul Pogba a lot, that he is a Red Devil will not affect my decision. I don't know if one day I will wear the Manchester United jersey"
Following the statement, Barcelona have reportedly backed out from the race to sign Griezmann as they think Atletico Madrid striker is using their club’s name to conclude a transfer to the Premier League giants.
Ozil to join United on a free transfer
Manchester United have not given up on the hopes of signing Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil even if it comes on a free transfer next summer, reports Daily Mirror.
In last 24 hours, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed that both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are not for sale in January at any cost even if it means that they go ahead and sign pre-contract agreements with other clubs.
United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Ozil as his new Number 10 following Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s massive decline in form.
United are ready to wait for Ozil until next summer as they feel they can get a quality player for a relatively lesser fee. Daily Mirror also claims that United will test Arsenal’s resolves by offering anything between £17-20million to stand a chance to sign the German world cup winner in January.
United’s next left-back identified
Manchester United are ready to sign Benfica’s left-back Alex Grimaldo after Benfica have agreed to sell the defender next summer or even in January if the price is right, reports The Sun.
Man United are expected to sign at least 2 new left backs in January to further assure their defence as they look to catch Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
Jose Mourinho is a fan of Grimaldo’s work rate and crossing abilities and has asked the scouts to keep a close eye on him with the winter transfer window set to open in next few weeks.
