Martial to be awarded a new contract?

The relationship between Jose Mourinho and Anthony Martial has been strained, to put it very politely. The Frenchman’s agent went as far as admitting that his client wanted to leave the club in the summer, a move that never happened ultimately.

And now, it might be a while before the former Monaco starlet leaves the Theatre of Dreams. According to Simon Stone, Martial is being awarded a new contract with the expectation that the club would be better off financially with him signing a new deal.

He also added that Jose Mourinho has been made aware of the developments despite the fact that the former Chelsea manager wanted to sell him the summer.
