Another United target... or not

Manchester United are set to lock horns with Merseyside outfits Everton and Liverpool over the signing of a 16-year-old Wigan starlet Joe Gelhardt.

According to ESPN, Gelhardt, who broke into Wigan’s U18 team at the mere age of 15 and is regarded as one of the most talented young forwards in English football, has caught the eye of the Premier League trio as they prepare to get into a tussle for him.

Meanwhile, according to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have drawn up an eight-man list of central defenders and the shocking part is that the name of Toby Alderweireld isn’t in it.

United, reportedly, think that the Belgian is not a 100% percent target – whatever the heck that means – and are instead looking at Raphael Varane, Jerome Boateng, Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Alessio Romagnoli, Jose Gimenez and Caglar Soyuncu.
