Portugal captain is on fire in the World Cup

So the trend of player’s openly claiming to want to leave their respective clubs was started by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo – and that, too, right after the final of the Champions League.

And now, according to Yahoo, Ed Woodward wants to sign the Portuguese because of his marketability. He believes that despite his age and Madrid’s huge asking price, United would be profitable if the sign him because of the media power that he possesses.

Meanwhile, Ian McGarry makes another claim and this time it is about the price tag of the Portugal captain. According to him, Madrid would sell him for €100 million, which sounds relatively low considering not only his calibre as a player but – as mentioned before – his marketability.

“Real Madrid will sell him [Ronaldo] for the €100 million mark,” he said.
