Emre Can joined Juventus on a free transfer in the summer and hasn’t started a game for the Old Lady yet. Before his move to Turin, however, he could have been enticed by Manchester United had Mourinho agreed.

According to former scout Javier Ribalta, he had suggested Mourinho sign Leon Goretzka and Emre Can on a free transfer but the Portuguese technician rejected the idea in the end.

"For my time in Manchester, I was only there for a year but I'd have liked to sign Emre Can and Leon Goretzka on free transfers," Ribalta said.
