It is quite funny that Manchester United are being linked with center-backs and have not been able to sign anyone in that position yet, but are now facing a battle to keep one of their own defenders at the club.

Victor Lindelof was signed with many expectations last summer but he failed to live up to his promised potential in his first season under Jose Mourinho. And now, according to The Sun, there are clubs that want to sign him.

A host of clubs are interested in acquiring his signature – with his former team Benfica also being on the list – but Mourinho stands firm in his conviction that the player has a role to play in the upcoming season and, hence, won’t be let go of.
