Speaking of central defenders, Yerry Mina is the latest player to be linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams as the Red Devils have been priced out of a move for both Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire.

ESPN pundit Paul Mariner also believes that the Red Devils would be going to Yerry Mina at the moment. He, however, added that the Catalans will squeeze as much as possible from the Manchester club as they have left it a little late in the window to sign a defender they so desperately want.

“Manchester United are at a bit of a squeeze point now. They’re in for Maguire but Leicester will keep putting the price up, exactly the same with Barcelona,” he said.

“Because they’ve left it so late United, they’re going to get squeezed.

“They need somebody desperately, so I’m going to say ‘get him in’.

“I said it about Maguire, they need a central defender because if you look at that back four it’s ageing a little bit and I don’t think the central defenders are up to it for United.

“So I’m going to say yep to it (Mina).”
