Manchester United's pre-season campaign kicked off and already supporters of the club are thrown into speculation regarding the future of a prominent member of the team. Unarguably, the player who shined most for the team in their match against Galatasaray was Antonio Valencia. The Ecuadorian outdid himself with a hat trick of assists and successfully managed to quiet down a large section of Mancs screaming for him to be sold.
The game also saw new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic mark his arrival, scoring from a magnificent scissor-kick to score his first goal for his new club.
Being in understandably high spirits after this assertive win, the fans of the club were somewhat brought down by a very vague Instagram post by Antonio Valencia. He posted a picture of himself and United teammate Marouane Fellaini with the caption “Moving forward is not the only option...but it's the best decision.” So what does it mean?
His message created a buzz among sections of football lovers throughout the world. The sentence is terribly cryptic, not providing any ground into reading anything regarding the future of Marouane Fellaini at the club.

He may have been talking about the progress of the club under the new manager. It may have been a reference to their pre-season campaign that should now exhibit a good, cohesive performance from the club as a whole. It may also have been a self-congratulatory message to himself on his return to form after receiving a lot of heat from fans and pundits alike. Either way, Valencia seems to be in no hurry to clear up the confusion.
That, however, has not stopped Twitter users from coming up with ridiculous conspiracy theories regarding the post. While there exist some supporters who read too much into every little thing said by any player, there are those maestros who have mastered the art of taking controversies lightly.
Reading this post in context with his other Instagram posts, we feel the people not worried about Fellaini leaving might have the right idea. After the match, Valencia shared a video of Zlatan's opening goal with a caption that translated to, “Life every day offers a new opportunity to be happy, it is called: TODAY.” Before the match, he shared a team picture with a caption, “If you failed yesterday, no matter, today you have the opportunity to start again.”
He may have been talking about his form after all.
