Paulo Dybala, 22, is all set to be the new owner of the legendary number 10 Juventus jersey. There might still be some more drama to follow in the Paul Pogba transfer saga, but Adidas may just have confirmed the Frenchmen’s departure with their shirt selling antics. Adidas, the official kit maker of Juventus have already started selling jerseys of Dybala with number 10 at the back.
Paul Pogba, the current holder of the number 10 jersey is in line to seal a world record move to Manchester United, the club that he left amidst unwanted circumstances, but no concrete confirmation has yet been delivered from either side. However, it is highly anticipated that it is just matter of time that the French star will eventually end up at The Old Trafford this season.
This paves the way for somebody else to claim the number 10 jersey for the Old Lady in the coming season. If there is anything to go by the recent developments the 22-year-old Argentine forward, who had a stellar last season wearing the number 21 shirt, is due to inherit the symbolic number 10 from outbound Pogba.
Dybala will become a member of an elite club should this falls in place perfectly. Some legendary players have been the possessor of the No. 10 shirt. Pogba, who wore the No. 6 shirt previously, took it from another Argentine Carlos Tevez. Players like Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Baggio, Michel Platini, former UEFA president, are all part of the elite list.
It will be a big leap for the young Argentine to have the prestigious shirt having just played only a season for the Serie A giants. Having completed a big money transfer from Palermo last year he took no time in showcasing his talent and justifying his place in the team. He amassed a total of 23 goals in 46 appearances throughout all competitions.
In the last season, he took over the No. 21 shirt from another legend Andrea Pirlo, and so far he has been brilliant in meeting the high expectations. It might be a big decision from the Juventus hierarchy to hand over the emblematic shirt to someone relatively new in the club setup, that too to a player who is so young, but he has already been able to convince the management that he is up to challenge through his power packed performances over the last 12 months.
Whatever may be the case this will certainly be good news for Manchester United supporters, who are gradually getting impatient and have been worried recently with the news that the Frenchman intends to be in Turin.
