Manchester United vs Arsenal, Old Trafford
Sunday, 10th November, 9:40 PM (IST)
It’s the big one! It’s the one we’ve all been waiting for; it’s Manchester United vs Arsenal.
Both teams come into this game with contrasting results. Arsenal showed why they’re at the top of the EPL table as they outclassed Borrusia Dortmund in Germany with a solid defensive display, winning 1-0 on the night.
Manchester United though have problems. Defensively they seem to be alright but they couldn’t seem to find a goal moving forward against one of less classier units of Europe in Real Sociedad. Robin van Persie missed a penalty which hit the cross bar. That summed United’s day; disappointing.
Team News
For Manchester United, Johnny Evans and Rafael Da Silva are two of the players that may or may not start Sunday’s game for the Red Devils. Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck meanwhile are set to return to action against The Gunners.
Arsenal’s Theo Walcott has been out of action for almost two months due to a stomach injury, but is expected to step up his fitness regime as he aims to return against Manchester United on Sunday. Mathieu Flamini will be set to return to action as well.

Likely XI and Formations:
Players To Watch:
Manchester United: Robin van Persie
The Flying Dutchman looked out of sorts mid-week but that could be weighed upon the fact that he played out the 90 minutes over the weekend as well. He will look to make the most of his abilities and score goals. If he doesn’t fire, United could be looking at another loss to a team in the big six.
Arsenal: Aaron Ramsey
The Welshman has been in outstanding form. He scored the lone goal against a Dortmund side and also scored a game sealing goal against Liverpool in the Premier League. This man has scored some stunning goals. With the able help of Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere, you can be rest assured that he will be in the mix of the goals. If he steps up to the plate, he could help Arsenal take all three points at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’.
Stats Quotient
- Arsenal have lost more Premier League games at Old Trafford than at any other ground.
- Arsenal have a five point lead at the top of the table and the Red Devils trail them by eight points. It’s their largest lead at the top of the Premiership table since February in 2008.
Prediction
This will be a tight game. Arsenal may run away with it if United don’t step up. Goals are on the cards with both outfits scoring 2 goals or more in each of their last 2 premiership games. David Moyes will hope to silence his doubters and Arsenal will look to do the same.
Scoreline: Manchester United 2: 2 Arsenal
