Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United - Premier League
Last Season Brighton defeated United by a solitary goal when the Red Devils visited the Amex Stadium. United had the ball in the net at the start of the game, but it was ruled out for offside. Brighton scored through a Gross header in the second half and the game ended 1-0. United had 68% possession, attempted 16 shots, out of which 3 were on target, but could not muster a single goal. Brighton had 11 shot, 4 of which were on target and scored 1 goal. The Red Devils had 862 touches on the ball and had attempted 675 passes. In contrast, Brighton had 475 touches and attempted 313 passes. United had 8 tackles to Brighton’s 19, 19 clearances to Brighton’s 22 and 6 corners to Brighton’s 5. United also had conceded 3 fouls whereas Brighton had 5. Brighton proved that they were no pushovers and with some smart additions in the transfer market over the summer, will be looking to have an even better season this time.
Similar to last time, Brighton are on the back foot again, and it would be unwise to write them off before the start of the game. United will have to work very hard for the 3 points and Mourinho will be well aware of the threat that Brighton possess and cannot risk a repeat of last season.

Deepungsu holds a PG degree in Microbiology and an MBA degree in Total Quality Management. He has an extensive two-decade long writing experience, which includes a decade of sports blogging. His writing prowess has even led his work getting cited on the legendary Franz Beckenbauer's Wikipedia page.
Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
