There have been plenty of twists and turns in the Premier League season thus far and we can expect more of the same when the two most successful clubs in England go head-to-head in an enthralling encounter at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Manchester United will be looking to dent Liverpool's title challenge and take revenge for their humiliating loss at Anfield which cost Jose Mourinho his job.

Jurgen Klopp's men sit second in the Premier League table but will climb to the summit should they pick up a point or three against Ole Gunnar's Red Devils who have won 11 out of their last 13 games in all competitions since he has taken charge of the club. The Old Trafford faithful have been witnessing a scintillating display of attacking football, but against Liverpool, they will be up against the side who have conceded the fewest goals in the league.

Liverpool meanwhile got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth followed by the clash against Bayern Munich which ended in a stalemate; a game in which the Reds were without the suspended Virgil Van Dijk.

With the Dutch International back, it will be interesting to see if United can break down this extreely solid Liverpool side.

Injuries:

Solskjaer was handed a huge boost with the return of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard to the rehabilitation process at Carrington Training Ground, but it remains to be seen if they will be involved in the game.

For Liverpool, the likes of Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez are still sidelined. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has taken huge strides on the road to recovery, but Jurgen Klopp has explained that he is still far away from full fitness. The English International is also unlikely to be involved in the game.

Suspensions

Neither side has any suspensions.

Player form

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken over, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have been producing tons of goals and combining well in the final third. These two have scored 14 goals and have 7 assists between them in the last three months. They will be pivotal to Manchester United's buildup play and a lot depends on these two.

Liverpool's unsung heroes have been Gini Wijnaldum and Fabinho. The duo is expected to start on Sunday and they will be given the responsibility of marking Pogba and preventing him from driving United's attack. Thomas Tuchel kept Paul Pogba in check by asking Marquinhos and Verratti to mark him in the middle and Klopp could resort to a similar tactic.
