When you are a multi-millionaire, there are very few things that your friends can give for your birthday that you don’t already have. But Wayne Rooney‘s team mates still managed to find something that they could all contribute to give him as a present: Sir Alex Ferguson’s autobiography!
Not many people have come out looking good in Sir Alex’s latest book and Wayne Rooney does not escape the axe either. However, it seems that the star striker is not too bothered about what his former manager had to say in his book.
In his book, Sir Alex said that Rooney was a very slow learner and had consistent fitness problems.
It doesn’t seem to have Rooney much though. Rather, he was thankful for Sir Alex to have cleared the air around his supposed transfer request last year.
“Thankfully he’s come back and corrected the story that I put a transfer request in and he’s gone back and proven that I haven’t,” Rooney told Sky Sports.
Sir Alex said that Rooney had “asked away” but did not state anything about a formal transfer request being put by the striker.
“I haven’t seen him since he retired, I’m happy under the new management. I’m working to get results under David Moyes and his coaching staff so that’s the main thing for me. The other stuff doesn’t concern me,” Rooney added.
