#18 Eric Bailly | Defender | £80,000 per week
The Ivorian has spent more time on the treatment table than on the field for Manchester United since arriving at Old Trafford at the start of Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the club.
Eric Bailly, sadly, has failed to fulfil his immense potential, forcing the Red Devils to continue their prolonged search for defensive solidity. Bailly has been behind Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire in the pecking order under Solskjaer and only appeared 11 times last season for Manchester United.
Although the Ivorian is only 26 years old right now, Bailly is fast running out of time at Old Trafford, with his current contract at the club due to expire in June 2022. The Ivorian earns a salary of £80,000 per week at Manchester United.
#17 Aaron Wan-Bissaka | Defender | £90,000 per week
The Englishman has been one of Solskjaer’s better signings at Old Trafford. Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United in the summer of 2019 and quickly established himself in the right-back role.
Despite the fact that his attacking instincts appeared limited, the Englishman fared very well in his debut season for the Red Devils. He made 46 appearances to help his team secure third place in the league last season.
Wan-Bissaka has continued his good form this season as well while his attacking instincts have started to bloom too. The Englishman scored his first goal for Manchester United and has already made ten appearances in the new season.
Wan-Bissaka is currently on a salary of £90,000 per week and is under contract at Manchester United till June 2024.
#16 Jesse Lingard | Midfielder | £100,000 per week
Jesse Lingard was once one of the most promising stars at Old Trafford. However, the Englishman finds himself down the pecking order at Manchester United right now and is clearly not a first-choice player under Solskjaer.
His speed and tenacity still works in his favour; Lingard appeared 40 times for the Red Devils last season and scored four goals.
The Englishman has just two appearances this season, both coming in the League Cup. It remains to be seen how Solskjaer plans to use him as the season unfolds.
Lingard is under contract with Manchester United till the end of the season; however, there is an option for an additional year. The Englishman’s current salary at the club is £100,000 per week.
#15 Alex Telles | Defender | £100,000 per week
Alex Telles is the most recent addition to Solskjaer’s kitty, joining the squad in the penultimate days of the summer transfer window. The Brazilian has just one appearance for the Red Devils so far, doing so in the UEFA Champions League, but Manchester United fans can only be pleased with what they saw.
A sudden tryst with COVID-19 has limited his appearances for the Red Devils, but with Luke Shaw injured again, Telles will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his skills in the coming days.
The Brazilian signed a four-year deal that runs out in the summer of 2024 and currently earns £100,000 per week at Manchester United.
#14 Donny van de Beek | Midfielder | £100,000 per week
Donny van de Beek was Manchester United’s first acquisition of the summer, but the former Ajax player has found game-time hard to come by.
The Dutchman has appeared ten times for the Red Devils so far this season, but most of them have been from the bench. However, Van de Beek has hardly put a foot wrong and has won rave reviews with his performances so far.
The Dutchman has already scored his first goal of the season in his debut for his new club and could yet turn out to be a very important player for Manchester United.
His current contract at the club expires in June 2025, and he earns £100,000 per week.
#13 Dean Henderson | Goalkeeper | £120,000 per week
Manchester United arguably have two of the best goalkeepers in the league. Dean Henderson was exceptional on loan at Sheffield United last season but decided to test his mettle against the best at Old Trafford this term.
The Englishman, who rose through the ranks at the Premier League side, signed a five-year contract extension in August this year, which expires in June 2025.
It is clear that the Red Devils think very highly of the 23-year-old and perhaps even consider him to be the long-term successor of De Gea.
Henderson has made three appearances for Manchester United this season, and the early signs indicate that Solskjaer has a gem in his hands. The Englishman is currently on a salary of £120,000 per week at the club.
