#12 Victor Lindelof | Defender | £120,000 per week
The Iceman arrived at Manchester United with a lot of expectations in the summer of 2017, but it is safe to conclude that Victor Lindelof has not fulfilled his initial promise.
The Swede has been stellar at times, but those moments of glory have been too few and far in between. However, Lindelof remains the preferred partner to Harry Maguire at the heart of the Manchester United defence, abet due to a lack of better alternatives in the squad.
The Swedish defender’s current contract at Manchester United expires in the summer of 2024, and he currently earns a weekly salary of £120,000 at the club.
#11 Fred | Midfielder | £120,000 per week
Fred’s time at Manchester United has been a rollercoaster ride. He started off as one of the poorest performers in the team but radically transformed himself to become one of the standout performers last season. While the more glamorous members of the squad hogged the limelight and took away all the plaudits, Fred continued to be the tireless worker in the Manchester United team.
The Brazilian has proved his value to Solskjaer once again this term, picking his team up when they needed him the most. He has been indispensable in recent games for Manchester United and looks set for another fantastic season ahead.
Fred is currently under contract at Manchester United till June 2023. He earns £120,000 per week at the club, but judging by his recent performances, he could be in line for an extension – and a raise – soon.
#10 Nemanja Matic | Midfielder | £140,000 per week
Nemanja Matic was brought to Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2017. The player helped Manchester United finish second in the league in the 2017-18 season. The 32-year-old continues to be an important figure under Solskjaer although he has been used sparingly this term by the Norwegian.
Matic enjoyed a stellar finish to last season, complementing Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba very well at the base of the Manchester United midfield.
The Serbian has made 128 appearances for Manchester United so far and currently earns £140,000 per week at the club, which makes him one of the ten best-paid footballers at Old Trafford. Matic’s current contract at the club runs out in the summer of 2023.
#9 Luke Shaw | Defender | £150,000 per week
Luke Shaw was brought to Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal at the start of the Dutchman’s tenure at the club in 2014. Since then, the Englishman has continued to divide opinions, even though injuries have hurt his development at Manchester United. However, Shaw is still only 25 years old and has already racked up 149 appearances for the Red Devils so far.
The Englishman has shown great promises in various stages of his career, only to pick up an injury and start from scratch again.
Shaw was pivotal for Manchester United’s fortunes last term and seemed to have hit inspired form after the arrival of Telles this summer. However, he picked up a hamstring injury against Everton recently and is set to be sidelined for a month.
The Englishman currently earns £150,000 per week at Manchester United, and his contract at the club ends in June 2023.
#8 Juan Mata | Midfielder | £160,000 per week
Juan Mata is one of the longest-serving players at Manchester United. The Spaniard was brought to Old Trafford by David Moyes in January 2013 and has seen three managerial changes at the club. But the former Chelsea player has survived them all and continues to add his characteristic guile to the Manchester United team.
The Spaniard has been used largely as a right attacker by Solskjaer, and Mata has shown that he still has the intelligence and qualities to make a difference at Old Trafford.
Mata has already built a wonderful understanding with Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek at Manchester United this season. He has scored two goals from six appearances this season.
He is under contract at Manchester United till next summer and currently earns £160,000 per week at the club.
#7 Bruno Fernandes | Midfielder | £180,000 per week
Bruno Fernandes, who arrived at Old Trafford in January this year, has been so influential for Manchester United in the second half of last season that he was awarded the coveted Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award. The Portuguese brought much needed quality and goals to the team and seems to be getting even better this season.
The former Sporting footballer’s drive and work ethics are just what the doctor has ordered for Manchester United. Fernandes is currently the first name in Solskjaer’s team list and also one of the most creative players in the league.
Bruno Fernandes’ current contract at Manchester United expires in June 2025, and he earns a salary of £180,000 per week at the club right now.
