Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has agreed to a three-year contract extension, a contract that ties him with the German Bundesliga champions until 2019.
Neuer’s previous contract was due to expire by 2016, but the new contract ensures that the German International remains at the Allianz Arena for three more years.
“It’s also a mark of his wonderful character, because he’s said ‘I want Bayern Munich forever’,” Bayern Munich Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told FIFA. “I’d like to thank Manuel Neuer very warmly for this.”
The 28-year-old goalkeeper had joined the Bavarians from Schalke 04 back in 2011. and since then has won two Bundesliga titles, a UEFA Champions League, a DFB-Pokal title, a DFP-Supercup and a Club World Cup with the club.
