Real Madrid's left-back, Marcelo reveals that Cristiano Ronaldo confessed to him about leaving Madrid while training for the Champions League final against Liverpool last season.

Regarded as one of the best footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus last summer after spending nine successful years with the club.
Ronaldo and Marcelo built a special relationship at Madrid and they used to hang out together when the Portuguese was at the Bernabeu. He also posted a special farewell message for Ronaldo on Instagram and revealed his love for the 34-year-old.
Marcelo was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu during the last few months and many reports suggested Juventus be his preferred destination.
The heart of the matter
In an interview with Esporte Interactive(via Goal.com), Marcelo reveals when Cristiano Ronaldo confessed to him about his desire to leave Real Madrid.
“We were training for our last Champions League Final against Liverpool and he told me: ‘I’m leaving’.
“So yes, he confessed it to me before the match.
He also dismissed the rumors linking him with a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
“We’re talking about a formidable team.
“I remember following them a lot when [Pavel] Nedved played. I also swapped shirts with him.
“Having said that, I’m still a Real Madrid player and I have a contract in force.
“I don’t know where the rumors have come from. I’d say if there was an agreement or negotiations had taken place.”

Marcelo's Real Madrid will play Ajax FC for the first leg of the Champions League Round-of-16 game next, whereas, Juventus are scheduled to play against Frosinone FC at Allianz Stadium on February 16.
