Marco Reus, who had to sit out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup due to an ankle injury, showcased his brilliance yet against as he scored one and assisted one during Borussia Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Augsburg on Friday.
It was the 11th minute of the game when Reus slotted one home after a quick one-two with Kevin Grosskreutz in the 11th minute tricking three Augsburg defenders in the process.
Four minutes later, Borussia Dortmund scored yet again, and this time it was from a header from defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos following a curling cross from Reus from a corner.
“I'm just happy to be back on the pitch, to be playing football,” Reus was quoted by the Daily Mail following the match.
The victory comes after a 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen earlier last week with Reus making his first appearance since his injury. Reus has also been called up Joachim Löw for Germany’s international friendly against Argentina next week.
