In a huge blow to Borussia Dortmund, midfielder Marco Reus has been ruled out of competitive football until January 2015 after suffering a torn ligament during his side’s 2-2 draw against Paderborn on Saturday. The 25-year-old also missed Germany’s successful World Cup campaign earlier this year due to an ankle injury and missed as many as seven games for Dortmund this year with a similar problem.
The injury was caused due to a challenge by former Dortmund player Marvin Bakalorz, who now plays for Paderborn. Reus posted a tweet on Monday, thanking his fans, saying he hoped to return to action soon.
