Marcus Rashford recently signed a new deal with Manchester United but Jose Mourinho is willing to reward the youngster with an improvement on his current contract.
The England U-21 international has been in brilliant form this season for both club and country. These performances have really impressed everyone at the club and they are ready to give him a new contract.
According to the Mirror, an inside source have said the following about his new deal. “The club will do everything to make sure Marcus is happy at United. That means talking to him and listening to any problems he may have. It also means paying him the kind of money top international footballers expect to earn.”
Rashford burst onto the Premier League scene only a few months ago but his rise has been meteoric. Lois Van Gaal had an injury crisis to deal with last season, and was forced to promote several young players into the first team.
Rashford was one of those beneficiaries and he repaid the manager’s faith with two goals on his debut against Arsenal. Now under Mourinho, he has already made an impact with two cameo performances.
The first time he came away with the winning goal against Hull City in the dying embers of the game, and he made a huge impact against Manchester City as well, even though it was in a losing cause.
Rashford was also picked by Roy Hodgson for the England national team who disappointed at the Euros. They were on the brink of elimination against Iceland and Hodgson decided to bring the 18-year-old who sparked that team into life.
But unfortunately, it was too little too late, as the Three Lions suffered arguably the biggest defeat in their history.
United lose third successive game in eight days
Jose Mourinho rewarded the teenager's rising influence with his first start of the season in the Premier League. United went down 3-1 against a well organized Watford side as the Portuguese manager lost three games in a row in all competitions for the first time since 2006.
Rashford was very impressive as he grabbed yet another goal which was United’s equalizer. The goal was of little consequence as a late Watford resurgence helped them to a shocking 3-1 win over the Red Devils.
It shouldn’t be panic stations yet at the club but this has been a very poor week for them and more importantly Jose Mourinho.
