Italy striker Mario Balotelli has seemingly kicked up another storm after he stated that England have no chance of lifting the World Cup in Brazil.
Italy and England, who are both in Group D, are set to lock horns on the 14th of June which will also be the opening game of this years competition. The prospect of facing the Three Lions doesn’t seem to faze Balotelli who stated that England do not pose a threat to him or the Azzuri.
“I don’t look at England as a team that can win the World Cup,” he said. “They have some good players, but they are no real rivals for Italy.
“I am not saying that Italy are favourites, but we have the mentality and experienced players to surprise people — I don’t think England have that.
“We have players who have won the World Cup, I don’t think England have a player who knows what it is like to play past the quarter-final.”
Balotelli has become the second Italian player to write off England’s chances after goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon who stated that the Azzuri are a league above England.
